CUTTING LETTUCE

CLactuca sativa acephala

      A FOGLIA LISCIA

White seed, small green leaves which widen towards the tips. Very tender. Harvested when the leaves reach 7–8 cm very early variety which regrows quickly and repetitively. SOWING: sow broadcast from spring to autumn,  using 5/6 gr, of seeds per 10 sq. m. of surface area.

227 RED SALAD BOWL

Cutting lettuce, without head. Voluminous, large and open plant. Long, large and lobate leaves of mid-thickness, crackling, brilliant red coloured. Late variety, resisting to moulding. Perfect for frequent cuttings, because of its quick sprouting. SOWING: particularly suitable for end-summer cultures, can be cultivated all year round depending from zones and climate in open field or in glass houses.

229 LOLLO ROSSA

Lollo Rossa salad is highly appreciated for the delicious taste of its rich, crispy and highly consistent leaves . large, voluminous and deep red-brownish  head. It has a straight and healthy basis. Thanks to its compact growth, the harvest is very rich and perfect also for a small vegetable garden. It is best for cut usage: it is possible to harvest single external leaves only, or the entire head at its fully ripeness. Medium precocious cycle variety best for autumn-winter production. Sowing: from July to October for harvest from October to March. Sowing quantity/dose: 30g/100sqm  planting and 12g/sqm in seed bed.
Plantation: transplantation is best about one month before sowing, when young plants are about 15 cm high at a 30/40 cm distance among rows and  25/30 cm on lines.

231 LOLLO BIONDA

High cutting and picking  selection having  voluminous and round head. Its leaves are gracefully curled and of a bright blond green. It has a rich basis and a reduced stem. It grows best at a mild climate. It is a precocious cycle variety for spring and autumn productions. Sowing: from November to February for spring harvest and from July to October for autumn harvest. Sowing quantity/dose: 30g/100sqm  planting and 12g/sqm in seed bed. Plantation: transplantation is best about one month before sowing, when young plants are about 15 cm high at a 30/40 cm distance among rows and  25/30 cm on lines.

232 CERBIATTA (o Catalogna)

Black-seeded variety, slow to bolt. Bulky head of long leaves with sharply serrated edges, bright green in colour. Cut when leaves have reached a height of 10 cm. Grows back rapidly and repeatedly. SOWING: sow broadcast from spring to autumn, using 5-6 gr of seeds for 10 sq. metres of surface area.

230 MISTICANZA

Mixture of several varieties of lettuce and racket, harvested by cutting leaves when about 7-8 cm tall. Very early variety that grows back rapidly and repeatedly. SOWING: sow continuously along rows or broadcast from spring to autumn for mixed salad harvests.
